Thanks to his sci-fi writing father, Ralph grew up with aliens and far-off galaxies,
not Kermit or Sesame Street. But rather than write like his old man, Ralph pursued
another side of the sci-fi world: art.

His childhood notebook doodles eventually led to a professional illustration career.
Since earning his M.F.A. degree in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design,
Ralph has illustrated more than 200 science fiction and fantasy novel covers, several
children’s books, numerous advertising and editorial projects as well as designs of
characters for 3-D animations.

Ralph currently lives in Charlotte, NC, with his fantasy wife and two out-of-this-world daughters.
